Residential Care Worker – Children’s Residential Care
Location: Erdington, Birmingham
Pay: £12.71–£13.09 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Day shifts and sleep-ins
Brookes HC Recruitment is recruiting Residential Care Workers for a small children’s residential service in Erdington, Birmingham.
The home supports three young people aged 13–16 with learning disabilities and personal care needs. This is an opportunity to help young people feel safe, develop independence and enjoy positive daily experiences.
Your role
*
Provide person-centred support in line with individual care plans.
*
Support young people with personal care, daily routines and practical skills.
*
Encourage participation in education, hobbies and community activities.
*
Build positive, professional relationships with young people.
*
Promote dignity, choice, independence and wellbeing.
*
Maintain accurate records and contribute to clear handovers.
*
Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly.
*
Work alongside colleagues to provide a consistent, supportive environment.
What we’re looking for
*
A caring, patient and reliable approach.
*
Experience supporting children, young people or people with learning disabilities.
*
Good communication and teamwork skills.
*
An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
*
Flexibility to work day shifts and sleep-ins.
*
Willingness to complete the required training and pre-employment checks.
*
The right to work in the UK.
