An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Warehouse Operative – Goods In to join our client’s successful team in Stevenage.

Our client is a well-established and growing business operating within the packaging and distribution sector. They are recognised for delivering high-quality products and excellent service to customers across a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join their warehouse operation.

You will be a team player, resilient, and able to adapt to a warehouse environment, as it can be busy, pressured, cold and wet at times. This is a physically demanding role that requires a basic level of English and numerical skills to ensure all relevant paperwork and systems are maintained to the correct standards.

This role is suited to an individual who can work on their own initiative as well as part of a team, with duties involving regular repetitive tasks and a high level of attention to detail.

Duties of a Warehouse Operative – Goods In:

• Off-loading containers, trailers and deliveries safely and efficiently

• Counting incoming stock and checking quantities against paperwork

• Labelling stock accurately and preparing goods for put-away

• Pallet wrapping goods securely for storage or movement

• Booking in stock accurately and updating systems / paperwork

• Returning stock to correct bin and storage locations

• Picking stock to KPI targets using pallet trucks and relevant MHE when required

• Loading vans safely and accurately

• Assisting with shunting vehicles in and out of loading bays (licence permitting)

• Carrying out cycle counts and stock checks as directed

• Removing cardboard and plastic from warehouse pick faces for recycling

• Baling cardboard and plastic to maintain efficient waste streams

• Deep cleaning warehouse slots and storage locations

• Removing damaged products and disposing of correctly

• Cleaning spillages, including chemical spillages, in line with procedures

• Ensuring all waste is separated into the correct waste streams

• General cleaning duties including sweeping and housekeeping

• Following a clean-as-you-go approach at all times

• Working efficiently as part of a team

• Achieving targets and standards set by Supervisors / Team Leaders

• Supporting wider warehouse operations as required

• Maintaining high Health & Safety standards and reporting hazards immediately

What we would like from you:

• Previous warehouse or goods in experience preferred

• Experience with off-loading, stock control or goods receiving desirable

• Comfortable working in a busy warehouse environment

• Physically fit and able to complete manual handling duties

• Basic English and numerical skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and use initiative

• Positive team player with a flexible attitude

• Good communication skills

• Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures

• Reliable, hardworking and punctual

• VNA license is desirable
