Responsibilities of a Sous chef
Assist the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth, efficient service
Prepare and cook fresh, seasonal dishes to high standards
Support menu planning, stock control, and ordering
Lead and motivate the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations
Help deliver special functions and school events when required
About you
Proven experience as a Sous Chef
Background in volume catering, banqueting, education, or contract catering preferred
Passion for fresh, healthy, and balanced cooking
Excellent organisation and leadership skills
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety practices
A positive attitude and team-focused mindset
