Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised part time Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the finance department. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills and a proactive approach to managing financial data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across key processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing purchase invoices and ensuring accurate coding and posting
* Assisting with sales invoicing and credit control activities
* Reconciling bank statements and supplier accounts
* Supporting month-end processes, including journal entries and accruals
* Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
* Assisting with payroll administration where required
* Handling queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders
* Supporting audits and compliance checks
* General administrative support to the finance team
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
* Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero,)
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
* AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable
