In a short period, we have trained over 5,000 business owners, delivered an average client growth rate of 370% in the first year, and embarked on an ambitious national expansion programme. In 2026, we will open a 20,000 sq. ft. Trade Mastermind University HQ as part of our long‑term plan to build the UK’s largest business education ecosystem for trades.
As we move into our next phase of growth, we are looking to appoint a Marketing Director who will take full ownership of the marketing function and grow into the role of Chief Marketing Officer.
This is a senior, office‑based leadership role requiring strong presence, commercial confidence, and proven experience building and scaling businesses. You will work closely with the founder and executive team, owning the marketing engine end to end — from strategy and brand to performance, automation, analytics, and team leadership.
The role carries full accountability for marketing performance and commercial outcomes. You will be responsible for setting the long‑term marketing vision, executing against ambitious growth targets, building the internal marketing function, and creating the systems and structure needed to scale nationally and internationally.
You will lead all aspects of marketing, including digital acquisition, funnel architecture, brand positioning, content and creative, CRM and automation (Ontraport), and performance analytics. This includes ownership of all major KPIs such as CPL, CPA, ROAS, CAC, lifetime value, and conversion rates. You will also be expected to contribute at board level, providing insight, forecasting, and strategic recommendations that directly support revenue growth and business expansion.
A key part of the role will be recruiting, developing, and leading a high‑performance marketing team. You will set clear expectations, embed accountability, and build a culture that values pace, ownership, data‑driven decision‑making, and continuous improvement.
We are specifically looking for a marketing leader with scale‑up or start‑up experience — someone who has built functions, not just inherited them. You should be commercially minded, confident in your opinions, comfortable challenging thinking, and happy to be hands‑on where required. This role is best suited to a Marketing Director, or a high‑performing Head of Marketing ready to step into a CMO pathway.
While formal marketing qualifications or degrees are welcome, they are not the deciding factor. Personality, leadership presence, commercial judgement, and a proven ability to grow businesses matter far more.
This role is fully office‑based in Peterborough and requires daily collaboration with the leadership, marketing, sales, and delivery teams. It is not suitable for candidates seeking remote or hybrid working arrangements.
In return, we offer a base salary of £100,000–£120,000 depending on experience, executive performance bonuses linked to growth, private healthcare, pension scheme, executive leadership development, and a clear, credible progression path to Chief Marketing Officer. Over the next three years, Trade Mastermind is targeting a £100M+ valuation, £10M+ EBITDA, and the expansion of our programmes to support over 1,000 business owners annually. The Marketing Director will play a central role in delivering this vision and will step into the CMO role as the organisation scales.
