The roleAs Management Accountant, you'll take responsibility for delivering accurate and timely management information while supporting the wider financial operations of the business.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
Producing budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections to support business planning.
Analysing financial performance and providing clear, commercially focused commentary.
Working with senior stakeholders to identify trends, monitor costs and support informed decision-making.
Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring the accuracy of financial information.
Managing and developing a small finance team, providing guidance and support with day-to-day activities.
Supporting year-end processes and liaising on statutory accounting requirements.
Reviewing existing finance processes and identifying opportunities for greater efficiency through technology, automation and improved reporting.You'll work alongside an experienced Fractional Finance Director, giving you access to strategic guidance while allowing you the independence to manage your own workload and priorities.
About youWe're looking for someone who brings a solid grounding in management accounting, strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in understanding business performance.
You'll ideally have:
Experience producing management accounts and financial reports.
A good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting software.
The ability to interpret financial data and present information to non-finance colleagues.
Experience supporting or managing other members of a finance team.
A practical approach to problem-solving and managing competing deadlines.
An interest in improving financial systems, reporting and processes.Experience within an SME or professional services environment would be useful, although applications from other sectors are equally welcome.
A CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification would be welcomed but is not essential. Relevant experience, technical capability and commercial awareness are the priorities.

Salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience, pro rata for part-time hours.
Hybrid working, with an initial expectation of three office days per week, reducing to approximately two once established, typically after six months.

Regular interaction with senior leadership and involvement in commercial decision-making.
