Ready to put your finance skills closer to the action?
Join a farmer-owned dairy co-operative where you can see how your work supports manufacturing, renewable energy and the communities behind it.
Riverside Recruitment is partnering exclusively with our client to recruit a Management Accountant, based at Lake District Creamery in Aspatria.
This is an opportunity to broaden your manufacturing finance experience, work closely with operational teams and make practical improvements that matter.
What’s in it for you?
£40,000–£43,000 salary
3% discretionary bonus, based on business performance
34 days’ holiday, including public holidays
Option to purchase up to five additional holiday days
Life assurance at four times your salary
Pension with 3% employer and 5% employee contributions
Colleague discounts platform
Employee Assistance Programme
Professional study support open for discussion
Varied projects and opportunities to develop your skills
A role with variety and influence
You’ll combine management accounting for Lake District Biogas, which converts dairy by-products into renewable energy, with stock accounting and controls across the Cheese Business Unit.
Your work will include:
Preparing weekly reporting, monthly management accounts, forecasts and budgets.
Explaining performance, investigating variances and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Maintaining accurate stock valuations, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
Reviewing stock movements, coordinating counts and resolving discrepancies.
Strengthening controls and supporting audit requirements.
Working with finance, warehouse and site teams to improve processes.
You’ll report to the CBU Finance Business Partner, with no direct reports. Success comes through clear insight, good relationships and constructive challenge.
What will help you succeed?
You’ll bring practical management accounting experience, an understanding of manufacturing and stock processes, and confidence explaining numbers to non-finance colleagues.
You might be part-qualified in ACCA or CIMA, progressing from AAT, or qualified by experience with a relevant manufacturing finance background.
Dairy experience isn’t essential. We’re interested in your ability to investigate, ask questions and turn your findings into useful recommendations.
Working arrangements
Monday–Friday, normally 9am–5pm. Alternative start and finish times may be agreed to suit team cover.
This is a site-based role, with occasional travel to other locations, including Haverfordwest.
Why this company?
Our Client is owned by the farmers who supply its milk. Creating value for those members, supporting local communities and building a sustainable future are central to the business.
You’ll join a collaborative finance team with scope to learn, contribute to improvement projects and build your experience across different operations.
