I am looking for a graduate software engineer for a company in Maidenhead, this role is hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Primary Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain software for products across the full stack: C#/.NET, SQL Server, and React/TypeScript.

* Learn and apply the team's coding, testing and database standards, with support from senior engineers.

* Use AI coding assistants and agents such as Claude Code effectively, and critically review, test and validate what they produce before it is committed.

* Write and maintain automated tests (unit, database and end-to-end) so that changes meet documented requirements.

* Investigate, debug and resolve defects in development and production, and document the fixes clearly.

* Work with the Product Owner to understand requirements and help estimate feature work.

* Work with QA Engineers on test plans and resolve issues raised during release stabilisation.

* Take part in Agile ceremonies, code reviews and team discussions about technical approaches.

* Communicate your progress clearly and ask for help early when you're blocked.

Qualifications and Experience

* A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field; or up to 2 years' experience in software development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (including internships, placements or personal projects).

* A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals: object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, and common design patterns.

* Familiarity with one or more of the following: C#/.NET, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, SQL, or another object-oriented language.

* Exposure to relational databases, web development, Git, Visual Studio, or Azure DevOps/Jira would be an advantage but is not required.

* An understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile ways of working.

* Curiosity and a genuine desire to learn, both independently and by asking questions.

* Good written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical ideas to non-technical colleagues.

* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

* Respect for best-practice standards and for departmental policies and procedures.

* Highly motivated self-starter with a collaborative attitude and a desire to help others and take action.

* Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team.

* Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks with competing deadlines.

* Ability to socialise ideas and influence decisions without direct authority.
