Smart Teachers is seeking an ambitious and inspirational English Teacher to join a rapidly improving East London secondary school from January 2026. The school is on an exciting upward trajectory and is looking for a teacher who is passionate about raising aspirations and delivering an exceptional curriculum for all students.
The ideal candidate will be a reflective practitioner with strong subject knowledge and a genuine commitment to ensuring students achieve excellent outcomes. The ability to teach Media Studies in addition to English is desirable but not essential.
About the Role
Teach English across Key Stages 3–4
Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging lessons
Support strong progress through effective assessment and feedback
Contribute to the wider English department and whole-school initiatives
Foster a safe, positive and respectful classroom environment
Uphold high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and personal conduct
Participate in professional development and continuous improvement

Requirements
Degree in a relevant subject
Strong subject knowledge in English
Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
