Munchkin Sports is one of London’s most respected and fast-growing children’s sports coaching organisations, inspiring 4,000+ children every week. For over a decade, we’ve delivered After School Clubs, Weekend Classes, Holiday Camps and Wraparound Care across South East London and Bromley.
Our mission is to help every child grow in confidence while developing coordination, agility and movement skills in a fun, inclusive environment. Our curriculum is built around the Munchkin Fundamentals: Fitness, Agility, Balance, Skills and Spatial Awareness.
We are now expanding our team and seeking enthusiastic Assistant Sports Coaches to support our holiday camps.
The Role
As an Assistant Sports Coach, you’ll support Lead Coaches in running fun, structured and safe sessions for children aged 4–11. This role is ideal for aspiring coaches, students, or anyone passionate about child development, sport and active learning.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Session Support
Support Lead Coaches during activities
Help maintain session structure
Assist demonstrations and instructions
Encourage participation and movement
Promote fun, confidence and enjoyment
Support safe use of equipment
Child Engagement & Safety
Supervise children aged 4–11
Build friendly relationships with participants
Support behaviour expectations
Help children feel included and confident
Report concerns to senior staff
Assist safe transitions between activities
Teamwork & Organisation
Prepare equipment and activity areas
Assist with set-up and pack-down
Follow daily plans and instructions
Work cooperatively with the coaching team
Attend staff briefings when needed
Support smooth, safe daily operations
Customer Service
Greet families at drop-off and pick-up
Communicate clearly with parents when appropriate
Represent the Munchkin Sports values
Maintain friendly, professional conduct
Assist with basic parent enquiries
