Accountant required:
Duties and Responsibilities
To support senior managers in the operational delivery of the Service. This may include the day-to-day supervision of staff allocated to them for the delivery of the part of the service, allocated to them. (Normally no more than 2 staff).
To undertake a range of accounting related activities that help ensure that the finances of the Council are properly run. These may include
• Budget setting monitoring and closing of accounts
• Following processes e.g. Treasury Management
• Undertaking financial control processes e.g. reconciliations
• Submission of grant claims and returns
To advise officers of the Council on Finance issues in respect of the services for, which they are responsible.
To contribute, as required into the development and implement of service plans, including delivery targets to ensure the service meets its responsibilities.
To report suspected irregularities identified to senior staff for follow up.
To respond to external and internal audit queries to the correct standard in an appropriate timescale.
MUST HAVE:
Must be CCAB qualified and / or relevant experience including continuing professional development
Candidate must have Experience of financial management and strategy
Candidate must be able to find positive solutions, with others, to challenging issues and is resilient, hardworking, self-motivated, forward thinking, positive and action orientated. Authoritative and credible in dealings at all levels
