About the Role
We are looking for a committed Youth Mentor to work across South Manchester, starting in January 2026. You will support young people who need additional guidance with their academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development. Through one-to-one mentoring and group-based sessions, you will help students develop confidence, resilience, and positive self-belief.
This is a part-time role offering up to 25 hours per week, paid at GBP30 per hour. Sessions take place during school hours, typically between 9am and 3pm, allowing for flexibility while fitting around the school day.
What Were Looking For
Experience in youth mentoring, pastoral support, youth work, or similar roles within education or social care
A strong passion for working with young people facing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
Empathy, patience, and a solutions-focused mindset
A creative and energetic approach to engaging and motivating young people
An interest or background in mental health, social work, or youth services (desirable)
A minimum of one years tuition or mentoring experience
Eligibility Requirements
Right to Work in the UK
An Enhanced DBS certificate (including the child barred list), or willingness to apply
Two professional references from child-related roles
A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
