Position: Teaching Assistant - Year 6 Class
Contract: Part Time, AM's Only (8.30am to 1.15pm) Initially for the Autumn Term.

We are looking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a Year 6 class for a large and welcoming primary school in Trafford.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team and play a key role in helping pupils achieve their full potential during this important stage of their primary education.The successful candidate will have previous experience working within Year 6, with a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum, SATs preparation, and the delivery of targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
Key Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
Work with individual pupils and small groups to raise attainment in English and Mathematics.
Deliver targeted intervention programmes to support pupils working below age-related expectations.
Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities.
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers.
Support pupils with varying learning needs to ensure they can access the curriculum.
Contribute positively to pupil wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement.
Assist with SATs preparation and revision activities.The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Year 6 classroom.
Experience delivering small group and 1:1 interventions in English and Mathematics.
Good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
A proactive, flexible, and supportive approach.
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2, Level 3 or equivalent).
Experience supporting pupils preparing for KS2 SATs.
Experience working with pupils with additional learning needs.What the School Offers
