Year 1 Teaching Assistant - Morecambe
West End Primary School - Part-Time
Veritas Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class at a welcoming and supportive primary school in the area.
This is a part-time position working:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
8:45am - 3:30pm
30-minute lunch break
Immediate start
Expected to continue until Christmas, possibly longer
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Year 1 class teacher to support pupils with their learning and development. Year 1 is an important stage in a child's education, helping them build confidence and independence as they transition from the Early Years curriculum into Key Stage 1.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
Working with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning
Providing additional support in literacy and numeracy
Helping pupils stay engaged and focused during lessons
Promoting a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment
Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with primary-aged children
Is patient, caring and enthusiastic
Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Is confident supporting learning across the curriculum
Has a genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
