We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Manager/Supervisor to join our team at our Stourbridge site.
This is a key role within the business, managing the day-to-day running of the warehouse and supervising one Warehouse Operative. The successful candidate will be organised, practical and confident working with steel products, with a strong focus on stock control, warehouse efficiency and accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse
* Supervise and support one Warehouse Operative
* Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently
* Manage and maintain accurate stock levels
* Monitor stock and deal promptly with stock outages
* Plan and coordinate incoming and outgoing containers
* Organise and prepare export shipments
* Complete and maintain commercial and export documentation
* Ensure goods are stored, handled and dispatched correctly
* Operate a forklift truck safely and responsibly
* Maintain a safe, tidy and organised warehouse environment
* Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, hauliers and customers where required
* Ensure warehouse procedures and health & safety requirements are followed
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a warehouse, stores or logistics environment, preferably with experience handling steel or other heavy goods.
You will need:
* A valid FLT Counterbalance (CB) licence
* Previous warehouse or stock management experience
* Experience loading and unloading goods
* Good organisational and planning skills
* Good attention to detail, particularly when dealing with stock and documentation
* The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
* Good computer skills and confidence using warehouse/stock systems and Microsoft Office
* Experience with containers, export shipments and commercial documentation would be advantageous
* A practical, hands-on approach to warehouse management
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external contacts
What We Offer
* Permanent, full-time position
* £27,500 annual salary
* Monday to Friday working hours
* 08:00–16:30, with a 30-minute lunch break
