Job Description: Finishing Operative
Location: Wellington Hours: 42.5 per week
Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 17:00
Friday: 08:00 – 15:00
Overview
The Finishing Operative is responsible for ensuring all products are completed to a high standard before dispatch. This role suits someone with strong attention to detail, practical skills and a commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out finishing tasks such as sanding, trimming, polishing, cleaning or surface preparation.
Inspect products for defects and ensure they meet quality specifications.
Operate hand tools, power tools and finishing equipment safely and effectively.
Work to production schedules and meet daily output targets.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
Complete required documentation such as quality checks and production logs.
Follow all company health and safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
Experience in a finishing, production, or manufacturing environment is beneficial but not essential.
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality work.
Good hand–eye coordination and confidence using tools and equipment.
Ability to follow instructions and work to deadlines.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team.
Transport required due to location and working hours.
