Jackson Hogg is pleased to be partnering with a growing and well-established business in Newton Aycliffe to appoint a Warehouse Manager – Distribution. This is a key leadership role with full responsibility for warehouse operations, driving performance, efficiency, and compliance across all distribution activities.

Role Overview

The Warehouse Manager will oversee all picking, packing, and revenue-generating warehouse activities, including inbound processing, kit splitting, and the safe, timely dispatch of customer orders. The role also carries full accountability for health and safety, team performance, and achieving operational KPIs to ensure service level agreements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

* Lead all picking and packing operations, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and service levels are met

* Manage inbound activities, product handling, and kit splitting processes

* Oversee order dispatch, ensuring compliance with carrier requirements and delivery timelines

* Monitor and improve KPIs including pick rates, accuracy, and throughput

* Drive continuous improvement across warehouse processes and efficiencies

Despatch & Carrier Management

* Ensure all orders are dispatched on time in line with SLA requirements

* Manage relationships with third-party carriers and resolve any service issues

* Ensure compliance with labelling, manifesting, and shipping documentation

Health & Safety

* Take full responsibility for warehouse health and safety compliance in line with UK legislation

* Conduct and review risk assessments and implement safe systems of work

* Ensure safe use and maintenance of mechanical handling equipment (MHE)

* Oversee racking inspections, fire safety procedures, PPE compliance, and incident management

* Lead on accident investigations and ensure RIDDOR reporting requirements are met

* Promote a strong safety culture across the site

People Management

* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of supervisors and operatives

* Conduct regular performance reviews, team briefings, and one-to-ones

* Manage staffing levels, including agency labour during peak periods

* Support training and development to drive team capability and engagement

* Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance

About You

* Proven experience in a warehouse or distribution management role

* Strong understanding of warehouse operations, KPIs, and process optimisation

* In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation within a logistics environment

* Experience managing teams and driving performance

* Strong organisational and communication skills with a hands-on leadership style
