A London-based accountancy practice is looking for a VAT Accountant to manage VAT compliance, bookkeeping, and tax reporting for a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, with a strong focus on construction sector clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Bookkeeping for limited companies and sole traders (VT Transaction+)
• Apply VAT Domestic Reverse Charge
• Manage Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) processes, deductions, and returns
• Prepare year-end accounts and CT600 corporation tax returns
• Assist with self-assessment tax returns
• Bank reconciliations, purchase/sales ledger management
• Act as a point of contact for client VAT queries
Requirements
• Experience working in an accountancy practice
• Strong knowledge of UK VAT and CIS
• Experience preparing VAT returns independently
• Bookkeeping experience using VT Transaction+
• Experience with construction industry clients preferred
• Experience with IRIS Accountancy Suite beneficial
Qualifications
ATT / ACCA / ACA / CTA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
