Pay: £24,700 per annum
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Accountant to join one of our longstanding clients, an established and growing accountancy practice based in Eastbourne.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or A Level leaver looking to begin a professional career in accountancy. You will support experienced Managers and Partners across a variety of client accounts while studying towards an AAT, ACCA or ICAEW qualification.

The Requirements:
Minimum 2:1 degree or higher for graduate applicants
Alternatively, A Levels at A*, A or B, or equivalent Distinction*, Distinction or Merit grades in relevant subjects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisation and ability to work accurately under pressure
Excellent attention to detail and compliance-focused approach
Strong logical problem-solving skills
Good team-working skills
Strong IT skills, including a high level of competency in Excel
Confidence using online accounting software
Ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
Flexible, positive and responsive approach to client needs
High level of integrity and professional ethics
Enthusiasm for developing a long-term career in accountancy
The Role:
Support Managers and Partners across a variety of client account work
Provide a high standard of client care
Draft and send client correspondence including emails and covering letters
Support bookkeeping activities and accurately record financial transactions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
Assist with personal, partnership and corporation tax returns
Complete control account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Prepare and administer client payroll and statutory reports for review
Reconcile wage transactions against payroll records
Assist with month-end and year-end processes
Help produce monthly reports
Support the specialist tax team with Personal Tax and Corporation Tax work
Carry out research and provide support around policies and procedures
Complete bank reconciliations
Maintain data security when handling sensitive client information
Keep up to date with current legislation and relevant professional requirements
Provide general administrative support to Managers and Partners
