Technical Pre-Sales Consultant (240lw) Security Cleared – UK Remote – From £80,000-£110,000 + Benefits

Are you a former OR transitioning military professional with a strong technical, operational or engineering background? Do you understand complex requirements, engage confidently with senior stakeholders and translate operational challenges into practical technical solutions?

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

This could be an excellent opportunity to take the next step into a technical pre-sales and customer-facing role within a specialist technology business.

Our client is an established UK technology organisation operating within complex, highly regulated and security-conscious environments. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Technical Pre-Sales Consultant to join their team on a permanent basis.

This isn't a traditional sales position. You'll act as the technical bridge between customers, sales and engineering teams.

Your experience may have come from - Military engineering or technical appointments, Defence technology, Signals / communications, Information systems, Cyber security, Networks, C4ISR, Systems engineering, Requirements management, Capability development, technical programme delivery, Operational technology, Defence procurement or acquisition

You may have recently left the military, be approaching a Service transition, or already have some established civilian experience within the defence/technology sector.

You'll spend time with customers understanding their operational and technical challenges, then help shape and demonstrate solutions that address those requirements.

Your responsibilities will include

Engaging with customers to understand business, operational and technical requirements.

Delivering technical presentations, demonstrations and workshops.

Supporting the sales team during customer meetings and strategic opportunities.

Designing high-level technical solutions and architectures.

Supporting Proof of Concepts and technical trials.

Contributing to RFI and RFP responses and technical proposals.

Translating customer requirements into clear technical specifications.

Working closely with engineering and product teams to develop appropriate solutions.

Building long-term relationships with end users, major contractors and key industry stakeholders.

Providing market and competitor intelligence back into the business.

Supporting the transition from winning an opportunity through to implementation.

You'll need a good working understanding of areas such as:

Cyber security principles and security controls

IT technologies

Networking

Public and private cloud infrastructure

Systems architecture

Requirements management

Technical specifications

High-level and detailed solution design

You don't necessarily need to be an architect or hands-on engineer. What's important is that you can understand technology, interrogate requirements and communicate technical solutions confidently.

Why Consider It?

This is an opportunity to move from delivering technical and operational capability within the military into helping customers solve complex technology challenges from industry.

You'll have the opportunity to work with sophisticated technology, engage with senior customers and have a genuine influence on how solutions are developed and delivered.

Please send a copy of your CV with a note outlining why this would be the ideal opportunity for you to Liz Walsh at Ex-Mil Recruitment Ltd
