As a Technical Design Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming customer construction drawings into practical, high-quality GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) products. Working from our Tamworth head office, you’ll collaborate across design, production, and sales to bring smart, sustainable building solutions to life.
What You’ll Do
* Interpret customer construction drawings to design and develop GRP products.
* Create high-quality, on-time drawings and technical documentation.
* Apply GRP properties and manufacturing principles in every design.
* Support production, sales, and customer service teams with technical expertise.
* Liaise confidently with clients, management, and directors to ensure projects meet expectations.
* Manage design data, maintain documentation, and occasionally visit sites to see your designs in action.
What You’ll Bring
* Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling (Autodesk Inventor and Vault experience ideal).
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
* Experience in a design or technical engineering role within manufacturing or construction.
* Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork.
* Confident communicator who can manage both internal and external relationships.
Desirable Experience
* GRP manufacturing knowledge.
* Familiarity with modern construction techniques.
* Strong understanding of materials and production processes
