Healthcare Team Leader – Permanent Role Service Care Solutions is recruiting for a Healthcare Team Leader to join a supportive service in Heysham on a permanent, full time contract.
Pay Rate: £15.50 per hour
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday (8:00am–5:00pm or 9:00am–5:00pm)
Location: Heysham
This role requires empathy, compassion, resilience, and strong problem solving skills, alongside a clear understanding of professional boundaries. A genuine passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental health support needs is essential, as well as a commitment to acting as an advocate and improving quality of life.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision
Provide day to day supervision, guidance, and support to support workers, ensuring high quality care delivery.
Lead by example in maintaining professional boundaries, safeguarding standards, and best practice.
Organise and oversee staff rotas to ensure safe and adequate cover at all times.
Conduct regular staff supervision and appraisals in line with company policy.Care & Support Delivery
Work directly with individuals, providing emotional, social, and practical support in line with personalised care plans.
Ensure support workers consistently follow care plans, risk assessments, and agreed behavioural strategies.
Support individuals to develop independence, life skills, confidence, and positive daily routines.
Act as a key point of contact for individuals, families, professionals, and external agencies when required.Quality & Compliance
Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times, escalating concerns appropriately.
Maintain accurate and timely records, including daily logs, incident reports, care plans, and medication records.
Monitor service delivery against regulatory and organisational standards.
Support the Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in preparation for inspections, audits, and service reviews.Communication & Teamwork
Facilitate staff meetings and briefings to ensure effective communication and engagement.
Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration, resilience, and professional development.
Liaise with external professionals such as social workers, healthcare providers, and education services as directed.Training & Development
Identify training needs and support new staff through induction and shadowing.
Mentor and develop support workers, improving skills, confidence, and performance.
Keep knowledge up to date with relevant legislation, safeguarding practices, and sector developments.Operational Responsibilities
Support the management of petty cash, budgets, and household resources responsibly.
Take responsibility for decision?making in the absence of the Manager or Deputy Manager.
