Part-Time Behaviour Teaching Assistant (2:1 Support)

Location: Community Hub/Studnets home
Hours: 10 hours per week
Contract: Part-time / Term-time
Pay: £20-£24 per hour (dependent on experience and training)

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join our team in a community hub setting. The role involves 2:1 support alongside a qualified teacher, who will lead structured sessions for a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role:

Provide consistent, calm and proactive behaviour support during learning sessions
Work closely with the teacher to implement behaviour and engagement strategies
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
Use de-escalation techniques and ensure the safety of the student and staff
Build a positive, trusting relationship with the student
Contribute to a nurturing and structured learning environmentEssential Requirements:

Up-to-date restraint training (mandatory)
Experience supporting children or young people with ASD and SEMH
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Ability to remain calm, patient and professional in challenging situationsDesirable:

Experience in alternative provision, community hubs or specialist settings
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
