An industry-led 16-19 academy in Birmingham is seeking a Teacher of Film & Television to deliver high-quality, practical teaching across screen-based production pathways.

This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely understands film and television production, not just theory. You'll be teaching learners who want to work in the industry and expect standards to match it.

The Role

Plan and deliver engaging Film & TV lessons aligned to an industry-led curriculum

Teach practical production skills including:

Camera operation

Lighting and sound

On-set protocols

Pre-production through to post-production workflows

Contribute to live, recorded, and cross-pathway productions

Collaborate with technicians, creatives, and industry practitioners

Support screenings, major projects, and academy-wide productions

Maintain a professional, creative, and high-expectations learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

Strong practical and technical experience in Film and/or TV production

Background in areas such as:

Directing

Producing

Cinematography

Editing

Professional film, TV, or digital content creation

Confident working in collaborative, fast-paced creative environments

Passionate about developing young people for real careers, not just qualifications
