Important: This position strictly requires prior accounting experience within the Lloyd’s or London Insurance Market. Candidates without direct experience preparing Lloyd's regulatory returns cannot be considered.
A leading, fast-growing legacy reinsurance specialist formed in 2020 is restructuring its London finance team. We are seeking a highly technical Syndicate Accountant who can take immediate, independent ownership of our core regulatory reporting pipeline.

Your Technical Return Profile
To be successful in this role, your current experience must align with the following technical matrix:
Core Essentials (Required from Day One):
* QMA Returns: Complete, proven mastery of the quarterly QMA reporting process.
* Syndicate Report and Accounts: Direct experience preparing Syndicate Report and Accounts.
* SUK (QSR/ASR): Essential hands-on knowledge of Solvency UK Quarterly and Annual Summary Reporting.
* Flash Reports: Ability to independently compile and analyse flash data with minimal oversight.
Highly Valued (Essential to Strong Working Knowledge):
* Solvency UK Data: Prior exposure to SUK QAD/AAD and ASB data streams.
* US & Global Reporting: Familiarity with RRA, US SIS, and US Situs (including R&P) frameworks.
Familiarity / Working Knowledge of:
* International Returns: Broad exposure to CAD Situs, CAD SIS, and NAIC requirements.
* Market Specifics: Understanding of Appendix 7 and UK TUK frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
* Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and review all finance-designated Lloyd's and global regulatory returns on time.
* Ledger Ownership: Oversee cash management, international deposits, and the posting of Lloyd’s settlement journals to the General Ledger.
* Process Evolution: Continually challenge existing reporting workflows to improve data quality, calculation speed, and systems efficiency.
* Taxation: Assist with the preparation and review of relevant Lloyd's market tax returns.
Candidate Requirements
* Background: Explicit career history within a Lloyd's Syndicate, Managing Agency, or London Market insurance business.
* Autonomy: A proven track record of working confidently with limited guidance.
* Software Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency is required; experience with Sun Systems or Vision Q&A is preferred.
