Student Engagement and Career Development ManagerDepartment: Student Services / Career ServicesReports to: Student Engagement and Career Development LeadLocation: UK Management College – ManchesterEmployment Type: Full-timeSalary: £36,000–£45,000About the RoleThe Student Engagement and Career Development Manager leads the delivery of student engagement and employability services across the College. The role ensures high-quality career support, strong employer and alumni engagement, and effective co-curricular activity that enhances student experience and outcomes. Working closely with academic and professional services teams, the postholder embeds employability and engagement throughout the student journey.Key ResponsibilitiesCareer Development & EmployabilityManage career guidance services including CV support, interview preparation, job search strategies, and career planning. Ensure consistent quality across appointments, workshops, and events. Coordinate careers fairs, employer forums, and recruitment activities. Maintain the employer CRM and support students with personalised career development plans. Hold or work towards a Level 4 qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance.Student EngagementCoordinate initiatives that improve participation, retention, and belonging. Support student societies, leadership development, volunteering, mentoring, and professional development programmes. Deliver campus-wide events that strengthen student community.Employer & Alumni EngagementDevelop and maintain employer partnerships to increase placement and graduate opportunities. Coordinate employer visits, recruitment events, and networking sessions. Support alumni mentoring, guest speakers, and engagement activity.Operations, Reporting & PromotionOversee day-to-day delivery of engagement and careers activity, supporting staff where applicable. Monitor participation and outcomes, analyse feedback, and prepare reports for senior management. Promote services through digital communications and collaboration with marketing colleagues.Person Specification3–5 years’ experience in student engagement, employability, or student services (HE preferred). Experience working with employers or alumni. Strong communication, organisation, and data awareness.
