Academics are urgently recruiting a Sports Specialist SEN TA to join a supportive specialist SEN school in Islington.
Role: Sports Specialist SEN TA
Pay: £100 - £110 per day
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time | Term Time | Temp to Perm
Location: Islington
The Role
This is a highly active and hands-on SEN TA role, ideal for someone from a Sports, Coaching, PE, Fitness or Youth Work background who enjoys working with young people in Islington.
You will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them develop academically, socially and physically while encouraging confidence and independence.
A major part of the role involves practical Life Skills activities, so you won't be sitting in a classroom all day. Activities can include:
Sports, PE and physical activities
Outdoor learning and community-based activities
Shopping and money-handling skills
Travel training and developing independence
Health, fitness and wellbeing activities
Supporting pupils with communication and social skills
1:1 and small-group SEN support
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
Sporty, energetic and comfortable being active throughout the day
Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEN
Confident building positive relationships with pupils
Patient, resilient and enthusiastic
Able to commit to a full-time role Monday to Friday
A Sports/PE-related graduate or experienced coach would be ideal, although SEN experience is not essential
