A specialist SEMH school in Crewe is seeking a dedicated and resilient sports coach to support primary and secondary pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a sports coach who is passionate about using physical activity to positively engage and support young people.

The Role

As a sports coach, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to deliver structured physical activities that support pupils' emotional regulation, teamwork, and confidence. The school supports both primary and secondary pupils, many of whom benefit from sport as a tool to improve behaviour, focus, and engagement. The successful sports coach will help create a positive, active, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Delivering structured sports and physical activities as a sports coach

Supporting primary and secondary pupils inside and outside the classroom

Using sport to promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and emotional regulation

Providing one-to-one and small group support during PE lessons as a sports coach

Supporting pupils during transitions and unstructured times

About You

The school is looking for a sports coach who:

Is patient, energetic, and emotionally resilient

Has experience working with children or young people

Can build strong, positive working relationships with pupils
