Long-Term | Full-Time | Alternative Provision | Potential Permanent Opportunity

Simply Education is recruiting for a specialist Alternative Provision setting in Hartford, looking for an enthusiastic Sports Coach to join their team as a Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 4.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Sports Coach who wants to take their passion beyond the sports field and use it to build confidence, develop positive relationships and help young people re-engage with education.

About the School

The school provides a calm, nurturing and structured environment, where every young person is treated as an individual.

The ethos is centred around positive relationships, understanding each pupil's needs and recognising their strengths. Staff work closely together to create an environment where pupils feel safe, supported and encouraged to succeed.

This is a newly opened, outstanding setting that is growing gradually, with pupil numbers increasing term by term. As the school continues to grow, they are looking to strengthen their team with passionate staff who can play an important role in developing the provision and supporting its pupils.

The Role

As a Sports Coach working as a Teaching Assistant, you'll use sport and physical activity to engage and motivate pupils while supporting them throughout their school day.

You'll help young people develop:

Confidence and self-esteem
Resilience and emotional regulation
Communication and teamwork
Positive behaviour and relationships
Motivation and engagement
Independence and life skillsYou'll work closely with teachers and the wider team to provide consistent, positive and encouraging support.

About You

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, resilient and passionate about working with young people.

Your Experience could include:

Sports Coaching or PE
Teaching Assistant work
Alternative Provision or SEMH
Youth Work or Mentoring
Children's Care or Residential Support
Football, rugby, fitness or community sportPrevious Alternative Provision experience is beneficial but not essential. What's important is your ability to build positive relationships, remain calm and consistent, set clear boundaries and inspire young people.
