Start Date: After Easter Half Term
Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | Approx. 20 hours per week
Our Specialist Maths & English SEN Tutors play a crucial role in supporting students with complex Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them re-engage with learning and build confidence across core subjects.
We work with learners with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and those working significantly below age-related expectations. Every student requires a personalised approach, and we value tutors who can adapt creatively and patiently.
This is a flexible, part-time opportunity starting after the Easter half term, ideal for tutors looking to make a meaningful impact alongside other commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored one-to-one Maths and English sessions to students with SEN.
Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs, abilities, and EHCP targets.
Support emotional regulation and engagement through structured, consistent approaches.
Build positive, trusting relationships to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Track progress and provide clear feedback to parents, carers, and professionals.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring both Maths and/or English.
Experience supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
Strong behaviour management and adaptability.
Right to work in the UK.
Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Qualifications:
PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience working with students with Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
Background in alternative provision or intervention-based support.
If you are a patient, resilient, and engaging tutor who can deliver both Maths and English while supporting students with additional needs, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference on a part-time basis.
