Location: South Manchester
Pay Rate: GBP25 per hour (starting rate)
Start Date: After Easter Half Term
Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | Approx. 20 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated Maths & English SEN Tutor to support students across South Manchester who require personalised, 1:1 intervention outside of mainstream education.

This role focuses on working with learners with complex needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and those who may be disengaged from education or working significantly below age-related expectations.

You will play a key role in helping students rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and make meaningful progress in core subjects. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity starting after the Easter half term.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver structured, engaging 1:1 Maths and English sessions tailored to individual needs.
Adapt teaching strategies to support EHCP outcomes and varying learning profiles.
Use creative and flexible approaches to re-engage students with education.
Support emotional regulation and behaviour through consistency and clear boundaries.
Track progress and provide concise, informative feedback to relevant professionals.

Essential Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience tutoring or teaching Maths and English.
Experience supporting students with SEN, particularly on a 1:1 basis.
Confident managing behaviour and adapting sessions in real time.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable:
PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience with SEMH, Autism, or disengaged learners.
Background in alternative provision, outreach, or intervention roles.

This role would suit a resilient, adaptable tutor who is passionate about making a difference and confident delivering both Maths and English in a non-traditional setting.
