Salary: Circa £55,000 - £60,000 DOE

Remarkable Jobs are recruiting for a Software Engineer specialising in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to join an established R&D team in Salisbury.

This is a hands-on embedded software role, developing firmware that runs on SHARC DSP processors within high-end audio products. You'll work from early concepts and prototypes through to developing the software that controls the DSP and processes audio signals.

The role

Develop real-time embedded software for DSP applications

Develop and implement DSP algorithms and audio processing

Prototype processing components in MATLAB, then implement them in C

Write drivers for DSP and PCB peripherals

Work with DAC/ADC and digital audio circuitry

Bring up and debug new prototype PCBs

Work closely with firmware, electronics and acoustics engineers

Use oscilloscopes, logic analysers and audio test equipment

Take part in peer code reviews

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' commercial C/C++ experience

Strong real-time embedded software experience

Experience with DSP / signal processing applications

Audio DSP knowledge would be highly beneficial

Experience with filter design, FFT, sample rate conversion or dynamic range control

Analog Devices SHARC experience would be a big advantage

Familiarity with electronics and hardware debugging

Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a similar engineering discipline

Git, Jira and Agile experience beneficial
