Site Manager – Specialist Construction / Rail

Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire
Project Values: Up to £7m
Contractor Turnover: Circa £30m

About the Company

We are working with an established multi-disciplined specialist contractor, turning over circa £30m, delivering complex internal and external construction packages across the UK.

The business works in partnership with Tier 1 main contractors and leading developers, operating across the rail, infrastructure, residential and commercial sectors.

Their experience covers a range of specialist packages, including façades, external envelope and internal works, with individual project values reaching approximately £7m.

Due to continued workload, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join the team on a project in Didcot.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of specialist construction packages, working closely with the Project Manager, client, subcontractors and site teams.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing internal and external construction packages.

* Day-to-day management of site teams and subcontractors.

* Programme management, sequencing and short-term planning.

* Managing QA, inspections, ITPs, snagging and close-out.

* Ensuring high standards of health & safety and site compliance.

* Coordinating labour, materials, logistics and other trades.

* Monitoring progress against programme and resolving site issues.

* Liaising with Tier 1 main contractors, clients and project stakeholders.

* Taking packages through to completion and handover.

Experience Required

* Strong specialist subcontracting background is essential.

* Ideally experienced across façades, cladding, external envelope and/or internal packages.

* Strong knowledge of QA and quality management systems.

* Confident with programme management, sequencing and planning.

* Strong understanding of H&S and site compliance.

* Experience managing subcontractors and installation teams.

* Rail/infrastructure exposure would be beneficial but is not essential.

* Comfortable working within Tier 1 main contractor environments.

This is a strong opportunity for a Site Manager from a specialist subcontracting background to join an established, multi-disciplined contractor delivering technically challenging projects across the rail and wider construction sectors
