Site Manager / Caretaker – Hammersmith & Fulham
Location: Hammersmith & Fulham, West London
Pay Rate: £17.17–£18.18 per hour PAYE
Contract: Temporary / Supply
Sector: Education
DBS: Enhanced DBS required – must be on the Update Service or willing to register for the Update Service
We are currently recruiting for experienced site staff to support a cluster of five primary schools across Hammersmith & Fulham, including Fulham, Langford, Queen's Manor, Sulivan and Wilberforce.
The schools are looking for reliable and hands-on individuals who can take responsibility for the day-to-day running, safety and maintenance of the school site.
As a Site Manager / Caretaker, your responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring the school premises are safe, secure and well maintained.
* Carrying out and overseeing health & safety and statutory compliance checks.
* Managing checks including fire safety, Legionella and PAT testing.
* Liaising with and managing external contractors and maintenance providers.
* Opening and locking up the school premises.
* Acting as a key holder and responding to site-related issues when required.
* Carrying out general hands-on maintenance, repairs and basic DIY.
* Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school site.
* Reporting maintenance, health & safety or security issues appropriately.
* Ensuring the school environment remains safe, clean and welcoming for pupils and staff.
We are keen to hear from candidates with previous experience as a:
* School Site Manager
* School Caretaker
* Facilities Officer
* Site Supervisor
* Premises Manager
* Maintenance Operative with school experience
School site experience is highly desirable, particularly experience with health & safety, statutory compliance and contractor management.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience working in a school or education setting.
* Good knowledge of health & safety and statutory site checks.
* Experience managing contractors and maintenance works.
* Practical maintenance / DIY skills.
* Ability to carry out opening and closing procedures and act as a key holder.
* Enhanced DBS.
* DBS must be registered on the Update Service, or you must be willing to register for the Update Service.
* Reliable, responsible and able to work independently.
* Must be happy to work on a PAYE basis.
