Location: County Record Office, Northallerton, DL7 8AD

PAY: We are prepared to negotiate the agency worker pay rate.

Contract: 3 to 6 months assignment

Hours: Full time – 37 hours Mon to Thurs 08.30 to 17.00, Fri 08. To 16.30, part time would be considered if a minimum of 3 to 4 long days per week.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced professional to lead inspection preparation and readiness across our Children and Young People Services. This is a pivotal role, ensuring the service is fully prepared for inspection at all times and that evidence, performance data, and stakeholder engagement are effectively coordinated.

You will act as the central point of contact for inspection teams, working closely with internal services and multi-agency partners to ensure a smooth, well-evidenced, and confident inspection process.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate inspection preparation and delivery across Children and Young People Services

* Maintain and manage a central evidence base, including self-evaluations, performance data, and audit materials

* Liaise with internal teams and partner agencies to ensure ongoing inspection readiness

* Act as the nominated point of contact for inspection teams

* Organise inspection logistics, including scheduling, documentation, venues, and stakeholder engagement

* Provide clear and timely updates to senior leaders

* Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of post-inspection action plans

About You

We are looking for a motivated and resilient individual with:

* Proven experience in Children’s Social Care within a Local Authority setting

* Strong understanding of Ofsted and wider inspection frameworks

* Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Experience working across services and multi-agency partnerships

* Confidence engaging with senior leaders and external stakeholders

* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

* The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
