The Role - Senior Software Engineer (C/C++) - Stevenage
* Design, develop, and maintain complex backend software solutions with full end-to-end ownership
* Translate high-level requirements into scalable, maintainable system designs
* Contribute to system architecture and ongoing product evolution
* Develop high-quality, performant software to agreed timescales
* Collaborate closely with product owners and cross-functional teams
* Support testing and quality-focused activities to ensure excellent product delivery
* Mentor and support junior engineers within the team
Key Skills & Experience - Senior Software Engineer (C/C++) - Stevenage
* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
* 5+ years’ experience in software development
* Strong C/C++ programming and object-oriented design skills
* Experience working in a Linux environment (GNU tools such as gcc, gdb)
* Network programming and multithreading experience
* Python programming knowledge
* Proven ability to break down complex problems and deliver solutions
* Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
Desirable Experience - Senior Software Engineer (C/C++) - Stevenage
* CI/CD pipeline development (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
* High-performance or real-time systems development
* DPDK experience
* Docker and containerisation
* Cloud technologies (AWS, Terraform)
* JavaScript knowledge
