Ever wondered what goes into pricing airline meals?
We're gategourmet, one of the world's largest airline catering businesses and we're looking for a sharp, commercially minded Senior Project Leader - Tenders & Pricing, to own our costing, pricing and tender activity across the UK and Ireland.
It's a role with real teeth: strategic enough to keep you thinking, operational enough to keep you grounded.
At its core, this role is about making sure the numbers are right and that everyone who needs them has them, on time, every time. In practice, that means:
Pricing & Costing: Leading the end-to-end pricing process across the UK & Ireland, from maintaining internal cost sheets and customer pricing documents through to keeping our ERP system (SACS) and customer portals accurate and up to date. You'll own price reconciliation with the invoicing team and make sure any gaps between systems are being actively closed — not just flagged.
Catering Points Calculation (CPC): You'll be the expert in the room on CPC. That means ensuring our food and handling modules are clicked correctly and on time, validating bills of material, keeping floor plans current and using BI tools to track and report on CPC KPIs. It's detail-heavy work, but the kind where getting it right genuinely matters.
Tenders: When a new piece of airline business is on the table, you'll be at the centre of it. You'll lead the costing and CPC elements of the tender process, work closely with commercial, finance and procurement, and make sure every deadline is hit — no exceptions. You'll need a solid understanding of flight volumes, passenger figures and rotations to do this well.
Data & Systems: A significant part of this role lives in SACS (our SAP-based ERP). You'll define how data flows through the system, coordinate everything from basic articles and bills of material through to invoicing, and work with our global SACS team when changes or fixes are needed. If data integrity matters to you, you'll be in good company.
Team & Stakeholder Management: You'll have a team of four or five reporting to you, so people management is a real part of the job — not a footnote. Beyond your team, you'll be working across operations, commercial, finance, procurement, culinary and customer service, as well as external customers and suppliers. The ability to communicate clearly across all of those relationships isn't optional.
What we're looking for
* A strong background in costing, pricing or financial analysis — airline catering or a similarly complex, high-volume environment is ideal
* Proven experience managing a team and influencing stakeholders at all levels
* Hands-on confidence with ERP systems; SACS or SAP experience is a genuine advantage
* The kind of commercial and analytical mind that can spot a problem in a dataset before it becomes a problem in an invoice
* Someone who stays calm when the pressure's on — and in aviation, it often is
A degree is preferred, but relevant experience counts for plenty. A UK driving licence is required given the travel involved.
The practicalities
This is a full-time, permanent role based at Head office, covering the UK and Ireland. Expect around 30% travel. Aviation is a 24/7 operation, so flexibility is part of the deal — but so is being part of a business that feeds millions of passengers every year and takes genuine pride in doing it well
