Full-time Permanent role 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday

We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Senior Fire & Security Commissioning Engineer for our fire and security division with a strong background in problem solving and installation work.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys both technical delivery and strategic project input.

Key responsibilities will include:

Commissioning duties

* Commission addressable and conventional fire detection systems to BS 5839.

* Configure and test fire & Intruder alarm panels (e.g. C-Tech, Advanced, Gent, Kentec, Pyronix’s, Honeywell).

* Produce and maintain commissioning plans, progress reports, and documentation.

* Perform site surveys and diagnostics on fire systems and resolve faults.

* Ensure all systems meet technical specifications and customer expectations.

* Fault finding and assisting other engineers with technical support

* Responsible for drafting, finalizing, and issuing quotations for new fire and security alarm installations, remedial projects, and associated technical work.

* Assist with project planning and coordination of design, installation and service teams.

* Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and scope of work documents.

* Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and to coordinate and schedule in works.

* Monitor progress and report project risks or issues to management.

* Manage end-to-end delivery of Fire and Security projects – design, installation, commissioning and handover.

* Provide out-of-hours technical support as part of the on-call rota, attending sites when needed.

Desirable skills

* FIA Units 1, 4, and 5 (Design, Installation, Maintenance, Commissioning)

* FIA Emergency Lighting (Design, installation, verification and ongoing maintenance)

* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

* Full UK driving licence (essential)

Preferred but not mandatory skills:

* Electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, 2391, NVQ Level 3)

* ECS/CSCS card (black or gold)
