About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Care Assistant to join a welcoming residential care home supporting older people, including residents living with dementia.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Care Assistant who is ready to take on greater responsibility while remaining hands-on and making a genuine difference to residents' lives.

You'll play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the home, leading the care team when required and ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centred care.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead and coordinate the care team when allocated as Senior on duty.
Support, guide and supervise Care Assistants.
Deliver high-quality, hands-on personal care.
Administer medication and maintain accurate records.
Support residents with daily living, mobility, meals and activities.
Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and daily documentation.
Communicate effectively with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in residents' needs.
Support new staff with induction and development.
Promote safeguarding, dignity, independence and residents' wellbeing.
Shift Pattern

The role offers a variety of shifts depending on the needs of the service:

8:00am – 8:00pm
8:00am – 2:00pm
2:00pm – 8:00pm
Shifts will be varied according to business and staffing requirements, so flexibility is essential.

The role also includes participation in an on-call rota, including weekday evenings, overnight periods and weekends when allocated.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

Has previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or in a similar senior care role.
Is confident providing hands-on care.
Has experience supporting older people, ideally including dementia care.
Is confident guiding and supporting other care staff.
Has a good understanding of safeguarding, medication and care documentation.
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Is reliable, flexible and able to remain calm under pressure.
Is willing to participate in the on-call rota.
