The Senior Accountant will support the Financial Controller with the timely provision of financial and management information for monthly consolidation. The role involves close collaboration with a small site-based finance team and regular remote interaction with finance teams across the wider corporate group. Key Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant:-
* Preparation of month-end files.
* Management of overhead costs, labour allocation, and SG&A expenditure.
* Preparation and management of key balance sheet accounts, including accruals, prepayments, accounts receivable and payable, inter-company balances, fixed assets, bad debt provisions, and other ad-hoc balances.
* Preparation and posting of standard monthly journals (payroll, accruals, prepayments, L&O recovery, overhead allocations, and miscellaneous adjustments).
* Supporting the monthly close of the general ledger and processing standard journal entries.
* Preparation of the monthly reporting pack for consolidation, ensuring compliance with SOX documentation and approval requirements.
* Monthly reconciliation and agreement of inter-company and intra-company balances, including FX adjustments.
* Maintenance of comprehensive monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure ongoing accuracy and integrity.
* Providing support across all areas of management accounts to ensure adequate coverage.
* Assisting with quarterly VAT return preparation and maintaining associated documentation.
To be successful as a Senior Accountant you will need to be AAT qualified as a minimum and have previous experience in a similar accounting role.
