Quantum Scholars is seeking a patient, adaptable and supportive SEN Tutor to work with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs in Hereford. The successful tutor will provide personalised learning that helps pupils rebuild confidence, re-engage with education and make meaningful academic and personal progress.

The role may involve

Delivering individualised tuition based on each pupil's needs, abilities and interests

Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs

Planning engaging lessons that are accessible and achievable

Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive learning habits

Adapting teaching approaches to support emotional regulation and engagement

Building professional, consistent and trusting relationships with pupils

Monitoring progress and providing clear session feedback

Working collaboratively with families, education professionals and other agencies where appropriate

Following individual education, support and risk-management plans

Maintaining clear professional boundaries and safeguarding standards

Essential requirements

Experience supporting or teaching children and young people with SEN, particularly SEMH needs

The ability to provide calm, patient and flexible support

Confidence adapting learning activities to meet individual needs

Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills

A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check, unless already registered with the DBS Update Service

Satisfactory professional references

You must have the right to work in the UK.

The ability to travel to and deliver tuition in person in Hereford, Herefordshire
