An inclusive and nurturing primary school in Haringey is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Year 1 child with additional behavioural needs.
This role involves supporting a Year 1 pupil who requires consistent, structured support to access learning and manage behaviour successfully. The child can display defiant and challenging behaviour, therefore a calm, patient, and empathetic approach is essential.
You will:
Provide one-to-one support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs
Support engagement with learning activities, both in and out of the classroom
Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions with peers
Implement behaviour strategies in line with school guidance
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure a consistent and joined-up approach
Support the child’s emotional regulation and well-beingThe school is looking for a confident and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who:
Has previous experience supporting children with SEN and behavioural needs
Is calm, resilient, and consistent in their approach
Demonstrates a professional and child-centred attitude
Is committed to inclusive education
Part-time: 5 mornings per week
Hours: 8:30am – 12:30pm
