Primary SEN Teacher (QTS Required)
Location: Heywood
Start Date: Monday 23rd January
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEN Teacher with QTS to join a specialist SEN school in Heywood.
This role involves working with preverbal pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), supporting their learning, communication, and development within a nurturing and structured environment.
The role:
Teaching and supporting primary-aged pupils with complex needs
Working with pupils who are preverbal and require specialist communication approaches
Planning and delivering engaging, individualised learning activities
Collaborating closely with support staff, therapists, and families
Creating a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
The ideal candidate:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience working with SEN and/or ASC (school or specialist setting preferred)
Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a child-centred approach
Is confident using alternative communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton - desirable but not essential)
Is committed to making a meaningful difference in pupils' lives
