Semi Senior Accountant / Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Semi Senior Accountant and a Senior Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice. Both roles offer exposure to a broad and varied client portfolio, with the opportunity to become client-facing and advisory-focused early in your career.

Client Portfolio
You will work with a diverse range of clients across multiple sectors, including some niche industries. The portfolio primarily consists of established businesses requiring a wide range of accounting services, rather than sole traders.
Key Responsibilities

Preparation and review of statutory accounts
*
Preparation of management accounts
*
Corporation tax compliance
*
Preparation of tax returns
*
Reviewing work completed by offshore team members
*
Communicating directly with clients and providing advisory support
*
Supporting clients with accounting queries and business advice
Please note: There is no audit work involved in either role.
Client Interaction
Client contact is a significant part of both positions. You will be encouraged to develop strong client relationships early in your career and progress towards an advisory-focused role.
Candidates should be comfortable communicating with clients via email and telephone, attending meetings and building relationships through face-to-face interactions.
Team Structure and Responsibilities
The wider office consists of approximately 25 employees.
The Senior Accountant will be expected to review the work of approximately two to three trainees but will not be required to formally manage a team. Experienced Semi Senior Accountants may also have opportunities to review work as they develop within the role.
Both positions offer the opportunity to take on increased responsibility and progress professionally.

Ideally studying towards or nearing completion of the ACCA qualification

AAT-qualified candidates will also be considered
*
Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
*
Experience across accounts preparation and tax
*
Comfortable communicating directly with clients

Keen to continue developing technical knowledge and advisory skills
Candidate Profile – Senior Accountant

Fully ACCA-qualified or qualified by experience (QBE)
*
Strong background within an accountancy practice
*
Experience reviewing work completed by junior team members
*
Confident communicating directly with clients and handling queries
*
Strong technical knowledge across accounts preparation and tax
*
Previous formal people management experience is not required
Technical Environment
Experience with the following software would be beneficial:

IRIS for accounts production
*
CCH for timesheets and billing
