About the Role
We are looking for an empathetic and experienced SEMH Maths & English Tutor to join our team in Liverpool for an ASAP start. This flexible, part-time role offers GBP30 per hour minimum, with the potential for a higher rate based on your availability. You will work with students who have Severe Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and it is essential that you have experience in supporting students with complex emotional and behavioural challenges.

Sessions will be delivered during school hours, and can take place in school, at the students home, or online, depending on your availability and the students' needs. The role is for approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours depending on student demand and your availability.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver personalised Maths and English lessons, adjusting content and delivery to meet the academic and emotional needs of each student.
Support students with SEMH needs, using effective behaviour management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
Track student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and school staff.
Develop and implement individualised lesson plans, adapting teaching methods to meet the specific needs of each student.
Build strong, supportive relationships with students, encouraging their engagement and helping them overcome emotional barriers to learning.

Essential Requirements

At least 6 months of experience teaching or tutoring Maths and English to children.
At least 6 months of experience working with children with severe SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
You must be cleared to work with children (DBS check required).
References from the last two years of employment will be required.

The role is part-time, with sessions taking place during school hours (Monday to Friday).
