About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic SEMH Maths & English Tutor to join our team in Trafford for an ASAP start. This flexible, part-time role offers GBP30 per hour minimum, with the potential for a higher rate depending on your availability. You will work with students who have Severe Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and experience in managing complex behaviours and emotional challenges is essential.

Sessions will be delivered during school hours, and can take place in school, at the students home, or online, depending on your preferences and the needs of the students. The role is for approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours based on your availability and student demand.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver tailored Maths and English lessons to students with SEMH needs, adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles and emotional needs.
Provide support for students with challenging behaviours, using positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, helping students build confidence and overcome emotional barriers to learning.
Track student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and relevant school staff.
Develop and implement personalised lesson plans, modifying your approach as necessary to meet the students' academic and emotional needs.

Essential Requirements

At least 6 months of experience teaching or tutoring Maths and English to children.
At least 6 months of experience working with children with severe SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs.
While a teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, etc.) is preferred, it is not essential.
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff.
You must be cleared to work with children (DBS check required).
References from the last two years of employment will be required.

The role is part-time, with sessions taking place during school hours (Monday to Friday).
