About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Maths & English Tutor to join our team in the Stockport/South Manchester area for an ASAP start. This flexible, part-time role offers GBP30 per hour minimum, with the potential for a higher rate based on your availability. You will work with students who have Severe Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and experience in managing complex behaviours and emotional challenges is essential.
Sessions will be delivered during school hours, and can take place in school, at the students home, or online, depending on your availability and student needs. The role is for approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours based on student demand and availability.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver tailored Maths and English lessons that meet the academic and emotional needs of each student.
Support students with SEMH needs, using effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Track student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and school staff.
Develop and implement personalised lesson plans, adapting your teaching methods to each students learning style and emotional needs.
Build strong, positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
Essential Requirements
At least 6 months of experience teaching or tutoring Maths and English to children.
At least 6 months of experience working with children with severe SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
You must be cleared to work with children (DBS check required).
References from the last two years of employment will be required.

The role is part-time, with sessions taking place during school hours (Monday to Friday).
