Security Systems Engineer – London & Greater London - £45,000- £52,000
* £45,000- £52,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)
* Door-to-Door (D2D) travel pay.
* Company van, fuel card & mobile phone.
* 22 days' annual leave + bank holidays, rising to 25 days after 1 year.
* Opportunity to develop your skills across CCTV, networking, access control and rapid-deployment security systems.
* Long-term opportunity with a growing business.
Security Systems Engineer Overview:
My client is a highly established and growing security solutions provider with over 30 years of combined industry expertise. They deliver premier, high-quality and discreet security systems across the commercial sector, working closely with main contractors, developers, property managers and high-street retailers. Their projects span diverse commercial environments including modern office blocks, hospitals, schools, student accommodation and premium residential blocks.
My client is looking for 1-2 high-quality, experienced Security Installation Engineers who can hit the ground running. While this role is primarily focused on projects and installation work, they operate a close-knit, cross-functional engineering team. This means all engineers must be willing to assist with planned maintenance, fault-finding, reactive repairs, and small works when required.
Candidates will ideally be located close to their North London office (Brent Cross area) to pick up kit and attend team meetings from time to time.
Security Systems Engineer Role & Responsibilities:
* Installation & Commissioning: Leading the installation of high-end CCTV, Access Control, and Intercom systems across commercial and large-scale residential sites.
* Cross-functional Support: Assisting with servicing, diagnostic fault-finding, and reactive repairs if project workloads quieten down.
* System Integration: Handling a wide range of electronic security kit, alongside a basic understanding of intruder alarm systems.
* On-Call Rota: Participating in a fair 1-in-5 or 1-in-6 standby rota to support emergency call-outs.
* Travel & Stays: The majority of work sits inside the M25 / Greater London area. However, there is an occasional requirement to stay away for projects (e.g., Oxford, Cambridge, Birmingham)—fully paid for, with 1–2 weeks' advance notice provided by my client.
Security Systems Engineer Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven Experience (Must): A solid background as a competent Security Systems Engineer who can work completely unaided on-site (though technical management and peer support are always available).
* Core Skillset: Strong technical proficiency in CCTV, Access Control, and Intercoms. A basic understanding of intruder alarms is highly desirable. (Note: Any experience with automated doors or gates is a bonus, though my client is actively stepping away from gate/barrier work).
* Reliability & Communication: Client-facing experience with excellent communication skills to liaise with site managers and builders.
* Proximity: Ideally based within an easy commute of North London / Greater London.
Package & Perks:
* Basic Salary: £45,000 – £52,000 basic (negotiable based on experience).
* Travel Pay: Full Door-to-Door (D2D) pay for a standard 9-hour working day.
* On-Call & Overtime: £150 weekly standby allowance + £50 per site attendance paid at 1.5x D2D time. Weekend overtime is also frequently available.
* Tools Provided: Modern company van, fuel card, company credit card, and smartphone.
* Holidays: 22 days + Bank Holidays for the first year, rising to 25 days + Bank Holidays thereafter.
