About the Trust
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust provides hospital-based services from three main sites – the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre, and Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester. We provide a wide range of services to a population of 603,000 people in Worcestershire as well as caring for patients from surrounding counties and further afield.
Key responsibilities include:
Emergency response
* Work independently within established parameters and respond to incidents and issues that arise, without precedent and take command of a situation outside normal working hours if for whatever reason relevant responsible persons are not contactable.
* Coordinate 24 hr Fire and Emergency response via the Ascom system, taking action in line with set policies and procedures.
* Monitor the fire alarm panel, BOLD system and security alarm panels and provide a fast and appropriate response to all emergency, security and fire alarms, in accordance with site and Trust policies
* Liaise with Emergency Services as necessary, ensuring that appropriate action is taken for untoward events and an accurate record kept.
Security duties
* Initial contact regarding reports of crime, ensuring that appropriate procedures are followed, gathering information and using judgment and appropriate questioning to obtain relevant information to ensure investigations can be completed successfully.
* Record all adverse incidents on the Trust Datix software.
* Check CCTV coverage, investigating any security breaches appropriately, reporting and recording image data and securing data in accordance with department procedures, recognising and adhering to the Data Protection Act and all Trust policies concerning privacy, confidentiality and information governance.
* Undertake patrols and secure buildings, set security alarms across the site as required.
* Administer the issuing and receipt of all in-house system bleeps/alarm handsets.
* Manage keys, obtaining signatures for the issuing of authorized keys, fobs and passes in line with procedural requirements.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
* Must have an SIA Licence.
* Must have Security experience.
* Have experience of patrols and using response systems.
* Have CCTV Experience.
* Working in an NHS/healthcare environment desirable but not essential.
