Security Architect – SOC
Farnborough | Hybrid – 2 days onsite / 3 days remote
Are you a Security Architect with a strong background in SOC environments, security operations or detection engineering who wants more ownership over how a SOC is designed and evolves?
I’m recruiting for a Security Architect – SOC to take a leading role in the architecture, governance and future development of a modern Security Operations Centre supporting complex Defence and National Security environments.
This is a senior technical role where you’ll act as an architectural authority across the SOC, working closely with security engineers, analysts and wider stakeholders to make sure platforms, integrations and services are secure by design and fit for the future.
As the Security Architect, you will:
Own and develop the security architecture across SOC platforms, integrations and services
Lead architecture activities across SOC services and customer environments
Produce and review HLDs, LLDs, security controls and testing requirements
Help shape detection strategies, including rules, use cases and correlation logic
Provide architectural governance for technical changes and new security solutions
Act as a technical authority across security designs, blueprints and technology roadmaps
Support SOC maturity, security assurance and accreditation requirements, including CREST
Identify opportunities to improve SOC capability through automation, AI and emerging security technologies
Work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to translate security requirements into practical solutions
To secure this Security Architect role:
You’ll need proven Security Architecture experience gained within a SOC, MSSP, enterprise security or similarly complex security environment.
You should have a strong understanding of how a SOC operates, including detection strategies, security tooling, integrations, rules and use cases, alongside broader experience of security governance, risk, compliance and assurance.
Most importantly, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership and acting as the technical authority rather than simply contributing to someone else’s architecture.
Security Clearance
Due to the Defence and National Security environments involved, this role requires a high level of UK security clearance. You must therefore be willing and able to undertake DV clearance and meet the specific nationality and residency requirements for the role.
If you’re an experienced Security Architect who understands the SOC world and wants a role where you can genuinely influence its technical direction, I’d be keen to hear from you
